Installing Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 on Windows7
Summary
When installing SEP 11 (symantec endpoint protection 11) on Windows 7 RC1, you encounter an error. To get around this, install the liveupdate (LUSETUP.exe), reboot then install SEP11 (client unmanaged).
Installing Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 on Windows 7 (32bit and 64bit)
The following errors are encountered when you try to install Symantec Endpoint Protection 11:
"Symantec Endpoint Protection has detected that there are pending system changes that require a reboot. Please reboot the system and rerun the installation."
"The wizard was interrupted before Symantec Endpoint Protection could be completely installed. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again."
How to install SEP11 (symantec endpoint protection 11):
- Install Live update by running LUSETUP.EXE
- Reboot once live update has been installed.
- Install SEP11 by running Setup.exe.
I have only tested using the unmanaged client option. I have also tested this on x86 and x64 Windows 7 and it works.
